Electrical Earthing System

INTRODUCTION:
Earthing is the grounding of electrical devices with the aimed to protect the system from effect  of thunder lighting strike. Lighting due to the thunder storm,can flow cable of electrical device and burnt it or it can burnt the whole building. Good earthing is very important, in all electrical devices and machines. It is advisable to unplug your devices during rainfall.

 WHY  WE  NEED EARTHING?
Earthing is the grounding of electrical devices for the purpose of protection and safety from leakage current or thunder storm that can lead to damage of electrical devices.
Earthing system can be found in all the electrical devices, it can found since from Generation, Transmission and distribution Stations. Also it can found at substations. It has vital  function as per as protection and safety concern, that is reason you can found it inside DVD, Computer System and Cars. To have more safety in your building, you must have good electrical earthing system. In standard lighting system, lamp holder has three terminals while power socket has four terminals include earth terminal, this will give complete and accurate earthing system in the whole building.
To connect your earth rod, connect earth cable with terminal of E.L.C.B to the earth rod which you will dig it inside ground, make sure the place is soft and has some moisture for low resistance. If there’s any leakage current or thunder storm it will follow the earth cable to the ground in a safe manner. Lighting arrest-er can also used because thunder storm always looks for heel object to pass through, that is reason it fix at roof of buildings. Have you observed it? b- Current Operated
Voltage Operated type: Normally trip off, if there’s  leakage current, with condition of proper earthing.
Current  Operated  type : Trip off if there’s short circuit or fault, but it does not need earthing, that is reason is more expensive but it is accurate and it has real sensitivity for  protection.
Did you experience receiving electric shock during replacing of electric bulb? If yes, is because of lack of proper earthing in your building. Sometime, during tapping pump. But if there’s proper earthing, you will not receive shock. The height of earth rod is 3meters it can pipe type or dig directly into the ground.
Earthing is important:
-To prevent thunder storm from damaging our electrical devices.
-It safeguard electrical/ electronics devices.
-it serve as a barrier to fire outbreak.
-It eliminate interference with communication circuits, it can constructive or destructive interference.
The wonderful thing with earthing is, you can found it in both  Alternating Current(AC) or Direct Current(DC) appliances. Study the diagram below:
